According to the Greek Statistical Agency (ELSTAT), the number of visitors to museums and archaeological sites in Greece has noticeably increased.
Compared to 2017, in the first seven months of this year, the number of visitors increased by 8.6%. In the first place was the Acropolis Museum, which was visited by 153,223 people, which is 16.7% more than last year.
In July, the Ministry of Culture launched an e-ticketing system in 11 of the most popular museums and archeological monuments in Attica, Crete and Peloponnese.
Such a system has become popular among visitors, because it eliminated the need to wait in lines. In the period from July 19 to August 5, about 15 thousand people have already used this system.
