The big concert took place in Athens and participated the State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir and some famous Greek performers.
The evening was attended by Ministers of the two countries, government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Greek Church, tourist organizations and the media, the Russian ambassador of Athens, Andrei Maslov, who read out the greeting from the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, and the Minister of Tourism of Greece, Elena Kundura, who talked about friendly relations between the two people and stressed that tourism brings people together, create bridges of cooperation and open up new paths for development.
Also, some important agreements and optimistic prospects of cooperation in the tourism sector have been reached between the two countries for the nearest period. Last year, the ministries of the two countries implemented a large-scale program of activities in the field of culture and tourism: more than 50 projects in the field of music and theater, cinematography, exchange exhibitions, cultural and educational and pilgrim tourism, and interregional cooperation were prepared and successfully carried out.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Greece in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Russia, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Greece and GNTO.
