Itineraries
Day 1
METEORA – TRIKALA
We will arrive in Kalampaka, where we will start our hike from the Kastraki square just at the foot of the Meteora rocks. Following the hiking trail, we will pass under the Pantokratoros Monastery and the Ipapantis Monastery and reach the summit of the rocks to get a tour of the Great Meteoron Monastery and the Varlaam Monastery. Finally, we will descend back towards our starting point in the Kastraki square and head towards Trikala to enjoy a delicious lunch. In a fine restaurant in the heart of Trikala, you will get a taste of Cretan cuisine prepared with boundless passion. Then we will head to the hotel in Trikala, where there will be free time to rest.Day 2
LAKE PLASTIRAS – THESSALONIKI
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Lake Plastiras, where we will walk along the wonderful lake-shore route surrounded by oak and beech trees. It is truly a sight to see. As we learn about the history of this artificial lake, we will also pay a visit to the Botanical Garden of Neochori to see the magnificent collection of local flora. There is a break for a snack to prepare us for the activities that will follow. We will have the chance to take part in some activities such as waterbiking in the lake or mountain biking and archery on the verdant path along its shores. We will top off this demanding yet fulfilling day with a gastronomical treat of the cuisine of Thessaly, tasting distinctive local dishes. Then we will return to Thessaloniki.- Accommodation in selected hotels
